PARENTS AND VOLUNTEERS

Parents will receive "Friday Folders" with notices and other information of which they need to be aware. The "Friday Folders" are sent home each Friday with students. The CCCS weekly Newsletter will be posted on this website (link found under "Student Shortcuts") each Friday. If a parent does not have access to the Internet, they can fill out a request form with Mrs. Johnson at the CCCS Office to receive a paper copy.

PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship):
Parents are encouraged to take part in our PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship). The PTF exists so that CCCS parents can support and encourage the school as a whole. Various events and fundraisers are organized by the PTF which include:
  1. A Family Fellowship in August to kick-off each school year. This potluck-style dinner is held so that parents, students, faculty, and staff can get to know each other.
  2. A Fall Fundraiser. This year the PTF is once again planning to sell home-made apple dumplings to raise money for various PTF events.
  3. A Pastors' Appreciation Lunch. This lunch is held to express our appreciation and love to students' pastors. This year we plan to host pastors from our area churches on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.
  4. The Christmas Store. A fun experience for parents and students alike, every year the PTF organizes a Christmas Store where students can purchase Christmas gifts. All items are usually $1.00 and are wrapped for the students. The Christmas Store is planned for December 2-3, 2009.
  5. A Grandparents' Appreciation Lunch. This lunch is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, 2010 to honor students' grandparents and provide them with an opportunity to "go back to school".
  6. A Faculty and Staff Appreciation Lunch. Tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, 2010, the PTF provides lunch for the faculty and staff and then oversees the students during lunch and recess.
  7. An Ice-Cream Social. The PTF is planning an ice-cream social in February 2009 as a time of fellowship for CCCS parents, students, faculty, and staff.
  8. Graduation Gifts and Refreshments. The PTF provides a small gift to each graduating senior. We also provide refreshments for the graduation reception following the graduation ceremony.
The PTF usually meets the first Thursday of each month.

Volunteers:
There are many opportunities to serve and assist CCCS. We are always looking for willing people to help out in a variety of ways. Volunteers are often needed to do some extra cleaning, help in the library, copy papers, prepare mailers, and assist with recess to name a few. If you have been blessed with a skill that you would like to share, but you do not see a corresponding request for that area, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Our current list of volunteer needs are as follows:
  1. School bus drivers
  2. Concession Stand workers for basketball games
  3. Help to solicit donations for the Spring Festival Auction
  4. Advertising coordinator
Please contact the CCCS Office or email cambriachristian@atlanticbb.net if you are available to fill these areas of need or if you wish to volunteer in any other way!
